New Regulation R58-03 / Underrun bars

R58-03 2020

24.12.2019

A COMPLETE RANGE OF R58-03 COMPLIANT UNDERRUN BARS TO SATISFY EVERY NEED

With the new R58-03 regulation governing rear underrun protective devices for industrial vehicles due to take full effect in September 2021, vehicle body builders will be required to equip vehicles with underrun bars that comply with this regulatory update.

Passed in November 2015 by the European authorities, with a very specific implementation timetable (see diagram below), the application of this regulation will no longer allow the fitting of R58-02 underrun bars from 1st September 2019 on any new type of vehicle, and from 1st September 2021 on any new registrations. Between these two dates, extensions to existing R58-02 type certifications remain possible.

In line with the update to this regulation, POMMIER has already revamped its entire range of underrun bars, in order to provide compliant and certified solutions to all of its customers in accordance with the application dates.

POMMIER has already obtained approval for its fixed, lifting (standard and finisher version) and retractable underrun bars, thereby certifying all of its rear protection solutions.

POMMIER has naturally undertaken this development with the aim of achieving the best possible compromise between improved mechanical strength, the tightening of new positioning and deformation constraints and controlling weights and costs.
